Student Success Workshops and resources are free and available to all LWTech students to help them reach their personal, academic, and professional goals. Student Success Workshops cover a variety of topics related to student success. Workshops can be offered in-person and online. Check out the listed workshops and resources below.

Career Choice Workshop

If you are unsure what to study at LWTech, the Career Choice Workshop (CCW) will help you understand the career choice process, identify your career interests, explore resources related to various career paths, learn about trends in the labor market, and locate educational programs aligned with your career goals.

  • The Career Choice Workshop takes place on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. and is currently offered virtually via Zoom. 
  • If you cannot attend one of the sessions, please contact Career Services at (425) 739-8113 or career.services@lwtech.edu to schedule a one-on-one appointment.

StudentLingo is a series of online, interactive workshops focused on helping LWTech students achieve their academic and career goals. These workshops are available 24/7, take 10-45 minutes to complete, and are repeatable. Check out these videos today and use the strategies learned for your college and career success.

CareerSpots

CareerSpots are short online videos to assist LWTech students with their job search and networking skills. All videos are close-captioned, have transcripts included, are less than 3 minutes long, and can be viewed multiple times. Spend a few minutes daily to improve interviewing skills, resume writing, networking, salary negotiations, and social media for you job search.

  • Financial Aid Literacy - learn about Financial Aid and how to properly access loans and take full advantage of financial resources for your education. 
  • LinkedIn Learning - a resource providing video instruction on numerous tech-related and professional development topics. LWTech students and faculty can access LinkedIn Learning by association with the college. (LinkedIn Learning Access Instructions)

    LinkedIn Learning Access Instructions

    1. Visit LWTech.edu/LinkedInLearning.
    2. You will arrive at a screen prompting you to type in your email. Type in your LWTech email address and password(same as your computer/Canvas/Yammer/etc. login). 
      Note: you will need to use a student or employee LWTech email address for authentication and eligibility purposes.
    3. After you Submit, you will see a Welcome prompting you to link/connect your LinkedIn Profile 
      • Note: this step is OPTIONAL and is not required to use the LinkedIn Learning service. Connecting your LinkedIn Learning profile with your LinkedIn profile will allow you to login using your LinkedIn credentials as another way to access the service. You can choose to not connect and keep the two profiles separate. 
      • You may be prompted to provide additional interest and skill information to help curate course offerings specific to your profile. 
    4. You can now browse the LinkedIn Learning resources by selecting from the dropdown menus to search by Subject, Software, Author. Or, type in the Search box a topic youโ€™d like instructional videos on.
