LWTech is a practical technical institute and offers an ideal study environment those who wants experience both professionally and educationally. In 2017, I graduated from LWTech with Applied Design degree. After that, I worked for a local architecture firm as a drafter. Through my education and work experience, I found myself what I want to do in the future – to become a licensed architect. I realized that both professional experience and higher education are important to achieve my future goal. I decided to come back to LWTech to continue my education because I had great experience here before, every member at the school is very supportive, and tuition is affordable. In addition, Architectural Technology program has a transfer agreement to Washington State University. I have been studying in the Architectural Technology program since fall, 2018. I am graduating the program in spring, 2019 and transferring to WSU to earn both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Architecture.

My name is Aigerim, I am studying computer science at LWTech. I am from Kara-Darya village, Suzak district, Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan. I am the youngest child in the family, and my parents are government workers. I graduated from a simple school in the village. I used to think that studying in America was a fairy tale for a poor rural girl like me. However, my parents always supported me and I really believed in myself and my aims. Edugo company helped me in this process, from applying for Colleges to visa preparation. I am very excited to be part of LWTech. The faculty members at LWTech are highly qualified and experienced in the field of Computer science. They provide a supportive and engaging learning environment and are always available to provide additional support and guidance when needed. The small sizes allow for a more personalised learning experience, and the professors are able to provide individualised attention to each student. My background education was not so well, however with the help of the professors and the resources which college offered us, I finished with 4.0 and 3.9 GPA. And I appreciate to Dave, he always supports us with every other problems. After finishing my education at LWTech , I am eager to become a software engineer and return to my home country to use the knowledge and skills that i have gained during my studies to make a positive impact on my community.

I definitely would recommend LWTech and would encourage students to study hard and inform themselves as much as possible about the several academic opportunities the Institution offers. Our college takes the educational mission to heart, here you will find people that will support you and guide you on the path to your degree.”

This school is worth applying because the faculty really puts a lot of effort into students. When a student has a problem, the teacher would walk to their desk and help the student. In addition, the tutoring department also helps a lot if students have any questions after class or if they have problems with their homework. Attending this college can also improve your English. For instance, there are not a lot of Chinese students so it forces people to speak in English. This will not only improve your English, but also gives you the courage to speak English."

I am excited to study at LWTech. I really like the instructors and advisors. They always help me when I have questions. I also really like my program and teachers. We use lots of technologies in our classes during studying. The Professors are very helpful; they always want to help us with our problems. In addition, this college gives me a lot of opportunities. For example, I opened my own student club, I took part in a lot of activities, organized some events etc. It’s a great environment to make new friends. This summer I started working in Campus Life. It also gives me a lot of experience and knowledge.

It’s been a great experience so far. I have found the professors and staff to be incredibly friendly and helpful as I am working on getting my degree. The curriculum for my major has good structure which can give me the real experience for the field I desire to get into. The international program staff are amazing. They have helped me a lot in many ways. I really like this school because I can get the education I want. I would highly recommend Lake Washington Institute of Technology to anyone!

I joined LWTech many years ago and I loved it. That’s why I came back! I’m now working for our Associated Student Government (ASG) as a Finance Officer. This has given me tremendous opportunities to grow personally and professionally. I recommend you do the same while you go here – work for the Office of Student Life if you can. It will make your experience here at LWTech much better.

We really love LWTech. We have a wonderful time studying here. My son receives all the care, support, and attention in the Early Learning Center, and I feel very confident about that.
LWTech is a safe place for us. It is a college where the people are friendly, the environment is respectful, and we have amazing resources.
I am also glad that I am going to start to work in Campus Life in the summer. My wish is to express all my gratefulness doing my best.

After coming to the U.S., my friends that went to a 4 year University all took a long time to adjust to the teaching style here. Attending here at LWTech with a small class size and going through the process of intensive English program—academic bridge program—academic program provided me a ladder to climb on. Through daily practices, my listening and speaking has improved tremendously.

Meeting Governor Jay Inslee was such a great experience. As part of the Associated Student Government (ASG) we were invited to participate in a meeting with Governor Inslee, faculty, and staff to talk about how Career Connect Washington has helped students in our college. This was an initiative started by the governor to create a 10-year vision and strategic plan for a nation-leading career connected learning and apprenticeship system. Before coming to study in the United States, I would’ve never thought I’d have the chance to meet the governor of a state, much less have a conversation with him about my dreams and goals. As an ASG Officer I’ve also had the opportunity to go to the State Capitol in Olympia to advocate for our students, and that experience has also been incredible. It was great to hear that someone in his position is willing to sit down and talk to the people who are the future of this country. My favorite thing that he said was this: “As you become leaders, lead in example, because you are the best investment we can make.” Those words really stood out to me and I know for a fact that I want to keep growing as a leader.
