At LWTech we welcome all students as an open enrollment college and we are committed to your inclusion at the college. The BAS-AME program of study leads to an individualized degree in entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs typically work for themselves and are less effected by routine background checks that might disqualify them from work opportunities. However, you should be aware, that if you do have certain types of justice involved convictions and you choose to work outside of the area of entrepreneurship, for example, such as in the area of finance, personal or corporate—you may be subject to a background check and it could affect your employment options. Different businesses require background checks—often at their discretion; however, typically finance related jobs require significant background checks concerning both credit and justice involved convictions. Please know LWTech is committed to your inclusion at the college and you can talk with an advisor about the BAS Entrepreneurship program and other alternative options that may be less effected by background checks allowing you to succeed and prosper.
