LWTech Trustee Laura Wildfong

Laura Wildfong was appointed to the Lake Washington Institute of Technology Board of Trustees in 2017. Trustee Wildfong previously served as a Board member of the LWTech Foundation Board of Directors from 2012-2017, as Vice President from 2015-2016 and President from 2016-2017. She served on the LWTech Foundation Scholarship Committee from 2013-2016, and has served as an Advisory Committee member for LWTech’s Environmental Horticulture program since 2012. She is also a member of LWTech’s President’s Advisory Council. Trustee Wildfong owns and operates NW Nurseries Incorporated Wholesale Nursery in Kirkland, Wash. She previously worked as a Program Manager in Systems Management Server and Visual Studio, Developer Division at the Microsoft Corporation. Trustee Wildfong is currently on the board of WALP, Washington Association of Landscape Professionals, King County. Trustee Wildfong holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science from Evergreen State College.

Ambera Dedic, RN, BSN

Ambera graduated from the LWTech Nursing Program in June 2016. LWTech offered Ambera hands-on training and knowledge of the diverse world of Nursing and it also inspired a dedication to the communities that Ambera will service through the practice of community leadership skills with her involvement in the Student Nurses Organization (past president). Ambera graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Washington.  In March 2018, Ambera was accepted into the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Seattle University. Currently, Ambera works as a Critical Care nurse at Overlake Hospital Medical Center. Ambera believes that Nursing is both a science and an art— and she appreciated the fact that LWTech mirrors this important belief.

Don Dicks

Don is a graduate of the University of Washington, Seattle, with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics. He later earned a degree of Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with President’s Honors from City University. Don joined the Boeing Commercial Airplane Division as an engineer after graduating from the U of W in 1966. He has held various staff and management positions at the Boeing Company during his 38 years – beginning as an engineer with the 707 Aerodynamics Group and eventually as a 747 Aerodynamic Staff supervisor for the first half of his career. For the second half, he worked for a few years in marketing - mainly supporting the 767 and 747 programs in Africa, the Middle East, Central and South America - and then sales – finishing his career as Deputy Vice President and Business Director for Asia-Pacific Sales, before his retirement in 2004.

Don has been active in the community, serving on the Kirkland City Development Code Commission from 1978 to 1982, on the board of the Kirkland Performance Center for ten years, and as a current board member of the EvergreenHealth Foundation. He has been a member of the Kirkland Rotary Club since 2004. Don and his wife, Merrily, live in Kirkland, Washington and have three grownup children and four grandchildren. He enjoys traveling, amateur photography, fishing and playing golf.

Angela Martin-Davis, BSN, RN, GMHS, MBA

Angela Martin-Davis joined the Foundation Board in 2016 and is the Director of Operations for EvergreenHealth Home Care Services. She is a registered nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Creighton University and Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University.  

Bill Shelby

Bill Shelby graduated from University of Puget Sound in 1988 with a B.S. in Economics with additional emphasis in Math, Physics and Computer Science. He worked at Microsoft as a software engineer during the 90s (with Laura Wildfong) before moving to his wife, Aly’s, home town of Dublin, Ireland for 3 years. Upon returning to the U.S., he continued to work in high tech at companies such as Microsoft, Big Fish Games, Zillow, and StockCharts.com. Bill has volunteered at Evergreen Hospital since 2014, and is a member of the Kirkland civilian emergency response team (CERT), as well as being active with the Irish Network Seattle. The BSN campaign at LWTech hits close to home as his mother was a career BSN and his father a university professor.

Elisabeth Sorensen

Elisabeth Sorensen oversees the activities of the LWTech Foundation including annual giving, events, major and capital gifts, and legacy giving.

Sorensen joined Lake Washington Institute of Technology in 2013 after nine years in development and community relations at Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King County and Bellevue Arts Museum. In 2002, Sorensen was appointed by Governor Gary Locke as the executive director of the 2004 National Governors Association Annual Meeting in Seattle. She has also held public and community relations posts with Washington Governor Gary Locke, Waggener Edstrom Worldwide and U.S. Senator Patty Murray.

Sorensen holds an Executive Master of Public Administration degree from University of Washington and is active in the Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce.  She lives in Redmond with her husband and daughter.
