Statement from Leadership Team

At LWTech, we aspire to foster a Community of Belonging. As the Leadership team, we support the Black Lives Matter movement and are committed to doing the work needed to dismantle systemic racism. This includes addressing anti-Blackness, helping to break down barriers, and identifying discrimination at the college and in the community by:

  • Reviewing current and past department practices to build a diverse culture of equity and equality.
  • Committing to professional development by participating in trainings, such as: courageous & honest conversations to counter anti-Blackness, micro-aggressions, and the bystander effect.
  • Leading by example in modeling anti-racist behavior, such as speaking out against social and racial injustices, as well as instilling values of inclusiveness and respect.
  • Knowing that this work is never complete and there is always room for improvement.
  • Extending this commitment to all individuals in the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community.
