How to enroll in classes.
- If you are a new student, complete the online application. Once your application is accepted you will receive a Student Identification Number (SID) and PIN number which will allow you to register for classes online.
- When you have your SID and PIN, select the registration method you plan to use from the pop-up menu under Enroll/Withdraw Classes (online, by fax or mail, or in person).
- Find the courses you want to take from the Class Schedule, the Extended Learning listings or the Redmond campus courses and write the following information about each course on a piece of paper or on the registration form (PDF file, requires a PDF reader) while you browse:
- the item number
- course letters
- course numbers
- instructor
- start date
- days
- time
- credits and lab/supply fee
Course details can be found using the Schedule Planner or the Class Schedule for the quarter you wish to enroll in.
3. Add together all the credits for your credit courses. Write in the total number of credits in the box below the credits column on the registration form, then check the tuition table and fill in the corresponding tuition amount.
4. Add the credit tuition amounts and any lab/supply fees and enter the total in the bottom of the tuition and fee total column of the registration form. Non-credit course fees are found in the class description.
5. Register for your classes using the option you chose in #1. You will need two things to register.
- Your Student Identification Number (SID). This number is assigned to you by the Registration office. If you have forgotten the number, you may look it up using the Display My SID page in the Student Toolbox. If you don't think you ever received one, please contact the Enrollment Services office at the phone number or e-mail at the top of this page.
- Your PIN number. If you have forgotten your PIN, ask your faculty adviser for this number. Discuss the classes you wish to take when meeting with your adviser.
- Continuing students receive priority registration.
- Item numbers 9000-9999 (non-credit Extended Learning classes) are generally available to register at any time by anyone.
6. Some classes may require additional codes called entry codes. For example, if a class requires instructor permission you will need an entry code. Ask your adviser or the instructor of the class requiring permission for the code before you try to register.
7. Pay for the courses using the Web credit card page (opens a new window) or by check, money order or credit card (VisaŽ or MasterCardŽ) in person or by mail. You may send in separate checks for each course to prevent processing delays if one course is full or canceled.
Register early. Courses with low enrollment are usually canceled five (5) days before the scheduled start date.
With mail-in registration, your canceled check or credit card bill is your confirmation. You will be given a printed schedule of your enrolled courses if you register in person. You can verify you are registered by checking your schedule online. Please include phone numbers on the registration form so you may be contacted about a class.
Students are enrolled in order.
Registration follows this pattern each quarter:
-
Continuing degree and certificate students
-
Newly admitted degree and certificate students
-
All other students.
Students may register at their appointed time or afterward. Go to the academic calendar page in the Current Students section for registration dates. Item numbers 9000-9999 are generally available for registration any time, by anyone.
Students who missed a quarter.
If you were previously enrolled in a degree or certificate program at Lake Washington Technical College and did not attend last quarter, go to Enrollment Services on the second floor of the West Building or e-mail Admissions at admissions@lwtc.edu to apply for readmission.
