Don’t see a club or activity that represents your interests? Start a new one. It's easy!
Take these steps to start a new club (all PDF files require a PDF reader):
Step 1:
Secure the agreement of LWTC faculty or staff person to serve as your club adviser on an annual basis. Have them sign a letter of intent (PDF file).
Step 2:
Get other students involved. Have at least six (6) interested students, including yourself, sign an application form (PDF file).
Step 3:
Develop a club constitution. A constitution officially states your club’s purpose and rules of operation. A sample constitution and instructions are found here (PDF file).
Step 4:
Schedule a meeting with the Coordinator of Student Programs in E214 to submit and discuss the documents listed below:
1. An application form
2. A constitution
3. Adviser’s letter of intent or agreement
Step 5:
The Coordinator of Student Programs will submit your application packet to the ASG Executive Board and Senate for review. A club member should attend the E-Board or Senate meetings where their application is discussed to answer any questions. Once approved by the Senate the group will become an officially chartered club.
Step 6:
Hold your club’s first official meeting and elect officers. Notify the Student Programs office of officer names and contact information.
