Fundraising options for each student club include membership dues, offering regular services to students for donations, or special fundraising events such as sales, raffles or service events. More information about fundraising can be found in the Club Handbook (PDF file).
All PDF files require a PDF reader.
Four important steps in raising funds for your club or organization:
- Plan your event well in advance. Careful planning and research on your part will pay off!
- Make sure your fundraising goal is included in your club’s annual budget (PDF file or use MS Word file).
- Submit a Fundraising Authorization Request (PDF file or use MS Word file) to Student Programs.
The Coordinator of Student Programs must approve all fundraising activities before they begin. Use the fundraising file above, or see the Club Handbook (PDF file).
- Deposit funds collected with the college cashier each day of the event.
All club funds must be deposited in a college account. Ask the Coordinator of Student Programs about exceptions to the nightly deposit rule.
Non-Profit Status
Fundraising can involve the use of the college’s non-profit status, and therefore, would require permission from the College Foundation as well as from Student Programs.
Events/Raffles
Also, raffles, bingo, amusement games, and games of chance may require a gambling license. If you wish to have this type of event, contact the Coordinator of Student Programs before any planning takes place.
In-Kind Donations
Document donations of materials or equipment with a Statement of Receipt of Donation form so the donation is tax deductible for the donor. Contact Student Programs for copies of this form.
